TheFestora (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates a technology-enabled marketplace that helps users discover, compare, book and manage wedding and event-related services such as venues, catering and decoration. We facilitate bookings; we do not plan or manage weddings, and vendors remain independent contractors.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, share, retain and protect personal information in accordance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (“DPDP Act”) and other applicable Indian laws. By using our website, mobile application or related services (the “Platform”), you agree to the practices described here. Our Terms & Conditions also apply.
1. Information we collect
We may collect personal data that you provide and data generated through your use of the Platform.
1.1 Information you provide
- Account details: name, email, mobile number, city and login credentials (including OTP, Google/Apple login where enabled).
- Event and booking details: event date, guest count, preferred venues/vendors, packages, quotations and communication related to bookings.
- Payment-related information: payment status, transaction references and billing details processed via authorized payment gateways (we do not store full card numbers on our servers).
- Vendor business information: business name, KYC/compliance documents, GST/PAN where required, listings, pricing, packages, media and settlement details.
- Support and grievance content: messages, complaints and feedback you send to us.
- Reviews and ratings: content you submit about vendor experiences.
1.2 Information collected automatically
- Device and browser type, IP address, approximate location, pages viewed, referring URLs and usage logs.
- Cookies, analytics and similar technologies used for essential operation, security and product improvement.
2. How we use your information
We use personal data for lawful purposes, including to:
- Create and manage accounts, verify identity and secure access.
- Enable discovery, booking requests, confirmations, cancellations and payment coordination.
- Share necessary booking details with the relevant vendor for fulfilment.
- Send transactional updates, reminders, support responses and service notices.
- Process refunds, settlements, chargebacks and reconciliation.
- Moderate reviews, prevent fraud/abuse and enforce our Terms.
- Improve Platform performance, analytics and user experience.
- Comply with legal, tax, accounting and regulatory obligations.

3. Legal basis / purpose limitation
Under the DPDP Act, we process personal data for specified purposes such as providing the Platform, fulfilling bookings, meeting legal duties and legitimate uses disclosed in this Policy. Where consent is required, we will seek it and you may withdraw consent for non-essential processing, subject to consequences for related features.
4. Sharing your information
We do not sell personal data. We may share information only as needed with:
- Vendors involved in your specific enquiry or booking.
- Payment gateways and banking partners that process payments and refunds.
- Infrastructure, analytics, messaging and support providers who help operate the Platform under confidentiality obligations.
- Professional advisers (legal, accounting) where reasonably required.
- Authorities or courts where required by law or to protect rights, safety and integrity of the Platform.
5. Cookies & similar technologies
We use essential cookies to keep sessions secure and remember preferences, and analytics/advertising technologies (where used) to understand traffic and improve marketing. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling essential cookies may affect Platform functionality.
6. Data retention
We retain personal data only as long as needed for the purposes described above — including active bookings, account maintenance, dispute resolution, tax/audit requirements and legal compliance — after which we delete or anonymize data in line with our retention and security practices. You may request deletion of account data, subject to legal retention obligations and outstanding booking/payment records.
7. Data security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures such as encryption in transit, access controls, backup practices and monitoring to protect personal data. No method of transmission or storage is fully secure; we work to reduce risk using industry-appropriate standards.
8. Your rights
Subject to applicable law (including the DPDP Act), you may have rights to:
- Access or request a copy of your personal data.
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
- Request erasure or withdrawal of consent for certain processing.
- Raise a grievance about how your personal data is handled.
- Opt out of marketing communications.

9. Children’s privacy
The Platform is intended for users aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided data, contact us so we can delete it.

Where processing involves service providers outside India, we will take steps consistent with applicable law to protect personal data, including contractual and technical safeguards as required.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The revised Effective Date will be posted on this page. Material changes may also be notified through the Platform or by email. Continued use after updates means you accept the revised Policy.
